Russia’s Luna 25 – The first lunar mission crashes into the moon

earth and satellite

Russia’s first lunar mission in decades has ended in failure with its Luna 25 spacecraft crashing into the moon’s surface.

Unfortunately the first ever lunar mission of Russia ended in failure just before landing into the moon’s surface. According to Roscosmos, the Russia’s space agency, said it lost communication with Luna 25 on Saturday around 02:57 p.m. The steps taken on August 19 and 20 to get in touch with Luna 25 to initiate communication did not turned out positive and resulting in failure. The preliminary investigation suggest that Luna-25 “switched to an off-design orbit” before the collision as per Russia’s space agency Roscosmos.
